Drafting a will is never fun and is often expensive. But Delmarva Power and dedicated employees, like Claudine Smith, are making it easier for seniors in need to tackle this tough task for free.
Claudine, a legal administrative assistant, recently became the pro bono director of the Delaware Paralegal Association (DPA). Her pro bono commitment aligns closely with our promise to energize the communities where we live and work. She is most passionate about helping underprivileged seniors access estate planning, and has taken action to help within the state.
“At Delmarva Power, we love supporting organizations that help people live better,” said Claudine. “We’re happy to be working with the Delaware Paralegal Association, which shares that commitment to our communities.”
Reinforcing that commitment, Delmarva Power recently hosted a Wills for Seniors Legal Clinic at the Delmarva Power Conference Center. Local organizations, such as Delaware Volunteer Legal Services, Bank of America, and law firm Greenberg Traurig, were on hand with lawyers and other legal professionals to help seniors prepare their legal documents.
